Hell (حېلل in Demonic) is a planet in the Middle Galaxy, the birthplace of the Demon race.

Inhospitable to most mortals due to the high surface temperature and significant volcanic activity, Hell is officially neutral to all extraplanetary affairs.

It was the main setting of the “Road to Hell” storyline.

History

Created about 1 billion years ago by Marduk by using the bodies of dragons created by Tiamat, the entire planet is typically covered by a cloud of fire. Due to its origin, Hell has a close connection to the Blood, a universe-wide energy field that connects all living beings.

Unofficially, Hell has carried out undercover missions to undermine divine rule, instigating fights between rival gods whenever possible.

Hell was successfully invaded by Anubis but managed to repel the invation.

The attack of Ares was far more brutal, slaughtering three quarters of the entire population. When Noriko Null rescued all survivors she was elected as its new leader.

Form of government

Hell is a constitutional monarchy: its leader (Lord Of All Demons if male, Lady Of All Demons if female) is democratically elected by all Demons old enough to fight.
The Lord/Lady Of All Demons is subject to the approval of Hell’s parliament, the Pandemonium.

Following the attack of Ares, the older position of Regent of Hell was reinstated; it is similar to the role of Dictator in Ancient Rome
Noriko Null is current Regent Of Hell, appointing Agony as Lady Of All Demons to carry out the day-to-day operations. This allows Noriko to basically be the head of state while leaving the actual government to Agony.

Trivia

  • Hell is about the size of Earth’s moon but has about 1.5 times times Earth’s surface gravity. Most of the population lives in underground caves
  • The population is strictly under control, with births of new Demons ordered by the state for every death. Unexpected births are almost unheard of.
