Enyo (/ᵻˈnaɪoʊ/ IPA, Ενγο in Olympian) is the Greek goddess of war. Daughter of Zeus and Hera, she’s one of the physically strongest gods in the Olympian Galaxy despite her limited experience in ruling her own sector.
She’s currently the Minister of Defense of the Olympian Empire.
Biography
Enyo is the oldest daughter of Hera and Zeus.
When she was younger she was raped by her brother Ares, making her unable to have children and damaging her vocal cords making it hard for her to say more than a single word at a time.
She is extremely powerful and ruthless, easily carried away by her lust for battle.
While worshipped as the primary goddess on several planets like Gordium, Enyo was not interested in having her own sector until the turmoil that followed the Mortal Uprising. She quickly took over territory, especially from Artemis, coming in contact with the Vanguard during their search for the Dragon Tomb. She was present during Noriko Null’s appeal to the Nine Gods and during the fight with Tiamat.
Enyo partecipated in the “Strongest Under The Heavens” tournament, reaching the final round against Quantum. Hera wanted Enyo to use the wish granted to the victor to kill Apollo, but Enyo rebelled against Hera and declared her intention to use her wish to kill her own mother.
After she lost to Quantum, she was stripped of her title by Hera and imprisoned by Hades for injuring his wife Persephone.
She managed to escape from her prison during the resurrection of Noriko Null and returned to the Olympian Galaxy to make her case for inheriting her father’s throne.
After being seriously injured in a battle againsta a sober Dionysus, she was healed by Noriko Null thanks to her connection to the Cosmic Background Network.
This cured Enyo’s speech impediment and somewhat diminished her bloodlust, leading Enyo to renounce her plans for domination and pledge allegiance to Null.
Powers
Immortality: Enyo does not age; she has kept her current apparent age for hundreds of thousands of years.
Flight: Enyo can lift her own body telekinetically. At her maximum speed, she can fly 2 million times faster than light.
Invulnerability: By placing a mental lock on her molecular structure, Enyo can prevent her body from being harmed. Vesta, Quantum and Artemis were unable to damage her, and she fought Athena to a standstill.
Godlike strength: Enyo is as strong as she thinks she is. She is strong enough to break Vesta’s bones with very little effort.
Godlike stamina: Enyo doesn’t need to eat, drink or sleep.
Universal translator: Enyo can understand any language instantly. People around her will have the same ability, but it will fade over time without prolonged contact.
Energy/sound projection: Enyo can generate vast amounts of energy, typically in some form of sound. Her scream can vaporize mountains and create earthquakes that devastate entire planets.
Notes
- Before she was cured by Null, she rarely spoke more than one word at a time.
- Despite her overwhelming power (she was shown to be far more capable in battle than Artemis), she was never given a realm before the start of the series.
