Ilithyia (/aɪlɪθɪˈɑˈ/ IPA, Ηλητχγηα in Olympian, also called Eileithyia) is the Greek goddess of childbirth, daughter of Zeus and Hera. A very minor goddess in mythology, Ilithyia prefers to work in the shadows.
She was among the main adversaries of the “Until Gods do us part” and “The serpent’s reach” storylines.
Biography
Not much is known about Ilithyia. She’s the favorite daughter of Hera, one of the few beings able to manipulate her.
Despite her extremely polite demeanor, she’s very cruel and ruthless. After the Mortal Uprising and the awakening of Tiamat, Hera took advantage of the chaos to give Ilithyia space formerly belonging to Artemis and Enyo.
As part of her scheme to increase her family’s control over the Galaxy, Ilithyia married Helios and backed his claim to the tile of Sun God, in open opposition to Apollo.
She later defected the Olympian pantheon and backed the Egyptians in an invasion of the Olympian Galaxy.
Despite being pregnant with her first child, she was sentenced to death by her mother Hera and executed by her brother Ares.
Powers
Immortality: Ilithyia does not age; she has kept her current apparent age for thousands of years.
Flight: Ilithyia can lift her own body telekinetically. It’s unknown if she can fly faster than light.
Invulnerability: By placing a mental lock on her molecular structure, Ilithyia can prevent her body from being harmed.
Telekinesis: Ilithyia can move objects with her mind.
Godlike strength: Ilithyia is as strong as she thinks she is.
Godlike stamina: Ilithyia doesn’t need to eat, drink or sleep.
Universal translator: Ilithyia can understand any language instantly. People around her will have the same ability, but it will fade over time without prolonged contact.
Interstellar teleportation: Ilithyia can create portals to move between star systems. She was able to teleport herself and Phobos to Myridia.
Motherhood recognition: a lesser known power, Ilithyia can identify a person’s mother at a glance.
Notes
