Selene (/sᵻˈliːni/ IPA, Σελενε in Olympian) is the Greek goddess of the Moon. Daughter of Hyperion and Theia, former generals of Kronos, she despises Zeus and his family.

She was the main adversary of the “Eclipse” storyline.

Biography

When Zeus overthrew Kronos and killed most of his generals, Selene was spared from punishment because Zeus found her attractive. She vowed revenge and hid in obscurity.

After the power vacuum created by the Mortal Uprising, Selene tried to take control of the newly born Mortal Republic but was defeated by the Vanguard.

Powers

Immortality: Selene does not age; each of her bodies has kept its current apparent age for the last 500 million years.

Flight: Selene can lift her own body telekinetically.

Invulnerability: By placing a mental lock on her molecular structure, Selene can prevent her body from being harmed.

Telekinesis: Selene can move objects with her mind.

Godlike strength: Selene is as strong as she thinks she is. She was able to easily overpower Vesta and Tyche.

Godlike stamina: Selene doesn’t need to eat, drink or sleep.

Universal translator: Selene can understand any language instantly. People around her will have the same ability, but it will fade over time without prolonged contact.

Matter and energy manipulation: Selene can deplete the energy source of a Talos robot with just a thought and create armies of soldiers made of marble,

Shapeshifting: Selene can alter her size and shape, turning into a rock statue as big as a mountain

Notes

  • Despite being incredibily powerful, her reputation as a force of nature was mostly a lie created by Athena to test Noriko Null
