Anubis (/əˈnjuːbɪs/ IPA) is the God of Death of the Egyptian pantheon, ruling the Naqada Galaxy following his mother Nephthys.
He was one of the main adversaries during the “Persistence of Eden” storyline.
Biography
Anubis is the son of Nephthys, who disguised herself as her sister Isis to conceive a son with Osiris.
While his mother was the supreme ruler of the Naquada Galaxy, Anubis ruled his sector with an iron fist: his subjects willingly gave up free will in exchange of eternal life in the form of a shared simulated reality to be used as a form of afterlife.
When his mother was killed by Noriko Null, Anubis took her place in the Nine Gods.
He then invaded Hell to recover one of the Keys of Heaven and kidnap several Demons to serve him as cybernetic slaves.
When the Eden invaded his realm, Anubis was forced to ally himself with the Vanguard to defeat them.
In recognition of Null’s services, Anubis agreed to let his subjects keep their bodies and allowed them to carry on with their lives without too much interference.
Powers
Immortality: Anubis does not age; he has kept his current apparent age for millions of years.
Flight: Anubis can lift his own body telekinetically. He can fly millions of times faster than light.
Invulnerability: By placing a mental lock on his molecular structure, Anubis can prevent her body from being harmed.
Telekinesis: Anubis can move objects with his mind.
Godlike strength: Anubis is as strong as he thinks she is.
Godlike stamina: Anubis doesn’t need to eat, drink or sleep.
Universal translator: Anubis can understand any language instantly. People around him will have the same ability, but it will fade over time without prolonged contact.
Shapeshifting: Anubis is able to change his shape at will. He has turned into a large jackal.
Cybernetic enhancements: the body of Anubis includes several cybernetic implants, both internal and external, that enhance his powers and allow him to directly interface with a wide variety of devices.
Necromancy and necrobots: Anubis is able to interface directly with nanomachines called Necrobots. They are able to modify matter at an atomic scale with incredible speed and precision. Combined with the personal power of Anubis the Necrobots allow him to raise the dead, animate or repair biological systems, interface with a mortal or a divine mind, suppress the powers of less powerful gods, and help Anubis repair damages to his body even faster than his natural healing factor.
